Lord Hawke's XI played once in Canada, after playing in New York, Philadelphia and Massachusetts. They drew a rain ruined match in New York and then beat Philadelphia twice, an improvement on the 1891 tour and this time the Philadelphians had the great Barton King in their team.
In 1894 Lord Hawke's team faced the Gentlemen of Canada, instead of the weaker regional Ontario teams faced in 1891 and the result was a drawn game, with Canada reaching 125 for 5 in their second innings, a lead of 33. JM Laing hit an unbeaten 31 to help save the game.
