Governors of Canada and cricket

For a minority sport cricket has a surprisingly good relationship with Governor Generals of Canada.

Gave permission for the erection of wooden stand at Rideau Hall cricket ground.
The Marquess of Lorne Nov 1878 - Oct 1883 Attended matches with his wife, Princess Louise. Was President of Ontario Cricket Association, which was set up in 1880 to select players for the international match and help organise the game domestically.
Marquess of Lansdowne October 1883 - June 1888 Patron of 1887 tour to Britain.
